For what it’s worth, I can attest that the basics of this story are true, but it is fictional in a couple respects.

I am the guy who wrote it. It was written in High School in Connecticut by myself and a woman in my senior English class.

Some of the words are changed from what I remember, but seeing it all over the net and no longer having an original copy to go by, I never did actually, we handed in this handwritten paper to the teacher, but it’s general form is correct.

She did call me an asshole and I did call her a both. The rest is made up over the years.

Our teacher read this, laughed his head off, shared it with other teachers and then sent it to a friend of his who was writing a book about English and Literature, and this was a pleasant aside from the rest of the subject matter. However, due to our being high school students, they changed the age to read college, they didnt want parents to get upset that their kids were writing profane papers in class.

And yes, it was high school, and it was in 1977.

True story.

I just reunited with the woman that I remember as being my partner in class, but she doesn’t remember it at all!
